LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Severe weather late Monday night into early Tuesday morning left a swath of destruction across the Capital City. It all began when the storms pushed through Lincoln a little after 11 p.m. Just before midnight, the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for southwestern Lancaster County. That warning was soon extended as the cell moved across the southern part of Lincoln. At one point, NWS was reporting that a confirmed tornado had touched down just to the south of Pioneers Park.
