Recently, the U.S. Senate voted--twice (Feb. 7 and May 23) -- to enact common-sense legislation to deal with this on-going matter. A bi-partisan group of senators brought this bill forward after toiling for months to craft legislation that would limit the number of migrants able to claim asylum at the Mexico-U.S. border. This is what the Republicans have whined about for years -- right? In both the February (49-50) and the May (43-50) votes, it was the Republicans who defeated the measures.
