Area man facing federal prison time for loan scheme during COVID

A Fredericksburg area man is facing up to five years in prison for defrauding the federal government by falsifying information on COVID relief program applications, court records state. Sherman Green Jr., 34, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud Monday in U.S. District Court in Alexandria, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office. According to court documents, Green incorporated Green Information Solutions LLC in September 2017 and opened business accounts at Navy Federal Credit Union.
