FAA Increases Boeing Oversight After Alaska Airlines Mid-Flight Blowout

Just one day after the Federal Aviation Administration announced an investigation into Boeing over a recent near-disastrous incident, the agency said it would increase its oversight of the company's manufacturing and production.
The FAA said it would conduct an audit of the Boeing 737-9 Max production line — and its suppliers – to evaluate Boeing's compliance with approved quality procedures. The agency will also increase its monitoring of the 737-9's in-service events and asses safety risks around "delegated authority and quality oversight."
