Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D.-N.Y.) sent out a tweet on Friday that linked to an Associated Press story about Gov. Ron DeSantis (R.-Fla.) signing legislation that bans abortion after the unborn child has a detectable heartbeat—which occurs about six weeks into pregnancy.
“The MAGA GOP is hell-bent on banning abortion across the country,” Schumer said.
The Florida law that DeSantis signed is called the Heartbeat Protection Act.
